acer iconia w3Thanks to French site MiniMachines.net, we can see lots of photos of an upcoming 8″ Windows tablet from Acer, but now it has been removed due to an Acer request. Microsoft has repeatedly told us that smaller Windows 8 tablets are coming later this year, and what interests us the most is that Acer is the first manufacturer to tack action. From these purported leaked images of an Acer Iconia W3 tablet, we can see that it could be the first 8-inch tablet on Microsoft’s Windows 8 platform. Meanwhile, that would be a Windows 8 first for a global top-tier vendor and would put Microsoft and its hardware partners in the tablet screen-size sweet spot if accurate.

Powered by a 1.8Ghz Intel Atom Z2760 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM, this 8-inch tablet would be small enough to fit in one hand while carrying the full software support of a PC. Maybe it is not as powerful as other tablets in the market, but it is enough to run all Windows applications properly. It’s nice that windows 8 tablet comes with atom processors rather than core processors. Heat generation and the resultant cooling fans is a major inconvenient in a tablet. Even the battery life will be much better with atom processors. So Acer Iconia W3 will do a good job.

Another selling point for this tablet is that it has dual cameras for taking photos and video conferencing. What is more, an optional keyboard dock is also available, which will ship with a pocket that protects the tablet against bumps and also doubles as a stand. That dock will be wider than the tablet itself and may not have a hinge—in other word, it might be a static desktop accessory, not the second half of a convertible design. Moreover, it will feature an optional foldable sleeve that can prop up the machine in landscape mode.
Sadly, no specific information is available yet about the system’s display resolution or pricing, but this tablet is expected to be available in September.

With high quality of Acer Iconia W3, it will make PC users’s Windows 8 life and work more convenience. Undoubtedly, Windows 8 is the hottest topic among PC users. It is really amazing. Windows 8 borrows some design elements from Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 operating system. Designed with touch in mind, the operating system will be used on not only traditional Windows desktops, laptops and ultrabooks, but also on tablet computers.

Windows 8 is really a beautiful start. You can Live updates at a glance. In Windows 8, even the little things are all about you. In addition, you can use your new tablet or laptop for entertainment, work, or both. Chat with a friend while scoping out a map, or play a game while getting stuff done. Go from spreadsheet to video in one swipe, or snap them side-by-side for easy multitasking. Windows 8 brings all of this fun to you.

The good news is that if your computers running windows 7, now you can update it to windows 8. A move that Microsoft says will dramatically improve the performance of those computers. Specifically, upgrading will improve your computer’s battery life, reduce its memory use, and allow it to boot faster.
